Because the court system is down, courts and attorneys are doing things differently. You will likely experience delays in all aspects of representation. Thank you for your patience.
Recently, the Kansas Judicial Branch experienced a network security incident which has affected Kansas Courts, all e-filing, Attorney Registration, and the Office of Judicial Administration, etc. The Office of Judicial Administration is working with experts from several sources to find out what happened in the security incident, how it happened, and how far it reached. Until those questions are answered, OJA can’t predict a timeline for when the systems will be brought back online.
Courts have decided to remain open and operating. However, clerks cannot receive electronic filings or electronic payments, which means normally-simple tasks performed by courts and attorneys are taking additional time. Because of our reliance on the Judicial Branch’s network for much of what we do, you will likely experience a delay in court filings, hearing dates, receipt of copies of court documents, and general assistance and communication. I am working diligently to continue to serve clients with legal needs. Thank you for your patience.
